The skin barrier

The skin is made up of several layers. The very top layer, the stratum corneum, is made up of many tiny skin cells. These skin cells form the skin barrier.

Its role is to keep out air pollution, dirt and bad bacteria and lock moisture into the skin.

Excessive or harsh cleansing, exfoliation, dry air or weather changes can break down the skin’s barrier, resulting in irritated and stressed skin.

All of facing north’s products nurture the skin’s own protection and help the skin’s barrier with oils, good bacteria and a natural and gentle preservative.

Take care of yourself!
